1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using the Lumio service ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you accept these terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be the parent or legal guardian of the minor whose account you intend to monitor.
- You must have the legal right under your jurisdiction to perform parental monitoring of that minor.
- You acknowledge that you remain the data controller for any personal data of the monitored minor; Lumio acts as your data processor for that data.
3. Acceptable use & relationship requirement
The Service is provided solely for one of the following lawful, consent-based relationships:
- a parent or legal guardian monitoring a minor for whom they hold parental responsibility; or
- another lawful relationship in which the monitored person has given their freely-given, explicit, informed consent to be monitored.
Any other use is strictly prohibited. In particular, you will not:
- monitor any adult — including a spouse, partner, employee, friend, or stranger — without their freely-given, explicit, written consent;
- use the Service for covert tracking, stalking, employee surveillance without notice, or any monitoring an applicable law would treat as unlawful;
- resell, sub-license, or grant access to the Service to a third party;
- circumvent rate limits, authentication, or any security measure;
- use the Service to harass, threaten, defame, or otherwise harm any person;
- extract, scrape, or copy non-public data from our platform;
- upload or transmit malware, exploit code, or material that infringes third-party rights.
Violation of any clause in section 3 — including using the Service outside a permitted parental-guardian or other lawful consent-based relationship — is grounds for immediate suspension or termination without refund and, where applicable, notification of competent authorities.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secret and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may, at our reasonable discretion, refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that we believe are being operated fraudulently.
5. Auto-renewable subscriptions, billing, refunds
Paid subscriptions are auto-renewable subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on the platform you purchase from. Plans are listed inside the app and on the pricing page; the price and term shown at checkout governs your purchase.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Managing & cancelling: you manage or cancel your subscription in your platform account settings (Apple ID subscription settings on iOS, or Google Play subscriptions on Android) — not inside the Lumio app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Restore Purchases: if you reinstall the app or switch devices, use Restore Purchases in the app to reconcile an active subscription tied to your store account.
- Regional pricing: prices may vary by region and currency. The exact price applicable to you is always shown in-app before you confirm the purchase.

- Free — $0
- Starter — $4.99 / month
- Pro — $9.99 / month
- Family — $14.99 / month
For purchases made through the Apple App Store, the use of the application is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).
Refunds: handled by the platform you purchased through — Apple or Google — per their respective policies. We can issue goodwill refunds at our discretion via [email protected].
Free tier: the free plan is available indefinitely with the limits published on the pricing page. We reserve the right to change free-tier limits with 30 days' notice via email.
6. Service availability and changes
We strive for high availability but provide the Service "as is" and "as available" without an uptime SLA on free plans. Paid plans inherit a target 99.5% monthly uptime; the credit policy for paid customers is described in our enterprise terms, available on request.
We may introduce, remove, or modify features. Material changes that remove a feature you rely on are notified by email 30 days in advance.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, designs, trademarks, and content we provide, is the property of Lumio Yazılım A.Ş. and is protected by intellectual-property law. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service in line with these terms.
Content you upload (e.g. contact labels) remains yours. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host and process it solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
8. Privacy
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy and, for Turkish users, the KVKK Aydınlatma Metni. Both are incorporated into these terms by reference.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Lumio be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in this section limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumio, its officers, employees, and partners from any claim, demand, loss, or damage — including reasonable attorneys' fees — made by a third party arising out of your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the Service. The most common such claim is monitoring an adult without consent; this is exactly why §3 is non-negotiable.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time through the in-app delete function or via the web deletion form. Termination triggers our 30-day soft-delete window, after which we cryptographically erase your data per our Privacy Policy.
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without refund, if you breach these terms, especially §3 (Acceptable use).
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Exclusive jurisdiction sits with the courts of İstanbul, with the exception of consumer protection rights that grant you the right to sue in your country of residence under mandatory local law.
For European consumers, you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Changes to these terms
Material changes are notified by email 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you disagree, terminate your account before the effective date.

Lumio works only with best-effort online/offline presence signals for accounts you are authorized to monitor, and never reads messages or content.
